The future can be a scary concept for most people, but this particular airline shows no sign of fear or slowing down as United Airlines’ summer schedule for 2023 was announced yesterday. The schedule sees new routes, increased frequency on existing ones and the continuation of routes previously introduced – and we’re here to tell you all about it.

Looking Forward: All The Places You Can Go With United Next Summer

This summer, United Airlines saw a 20% increase (compared to 2019) in customers’ interest to fly to Europe, and so revised plans for the next summer period to include more of what the post-pandemic market reflected.

As of next year, United will be offering services to three new cities: Malaga (Spain), Stockholm (Sweden), and Dubai (UAE). The new routes will all start in New York/Newark and will be performed as non-stop flights. Newark-Malaga debuts on March 31st and will be served by a Boeing 757-200; the Newark-Stockholm route begins on May 27th and will also be operated by a Boeing 757-200.

Starting March 25th, the Newark-Dubai route will be introduced and served by a Boeing 777-200ER. United’s agreement with Emirates means that customers flying to Dubai with United can board connecting flights with Emirates (or its sibling airline flydubai) to over 100 destinations.

Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global network planning and alliances, spoke on the impact these plans will have on customers in a recent statement:

“Next summer United is offering the best of both worlds: we’re making it easier for our customers to visit the most popular cities in Europe, but we’re also expanding our reach to give travellers access to new places they haven’t yet experienced.”

United Airlines’ Summer Schedule Influenced by Post-Pandemic Market, More Flights to Europe

Not only will there be three route debuts, but United also plans to increase flight frequencies to popular destinations, such as London, Paris and Barcelona.

Starting May 25th, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will whisk passengers from Chicago to Barcelona. The airline already flies to Barcelona from New York/Newark and Washington Dulles, so customers can now reach the Spanish destination from a new base.

Before this news, United had already expanded its services in London by flying from four US airports to the popular capital. Now, the airline has announced that a second daily flight between Los Angeles and London will be added – and so United will be offering 23 daily flights to London beginning March 25th. The Los Angeles-London Heathrow route will be performed by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

More flights to Paris are scheduled to happen from June 2nd, with a second daily flight added to the Washington Dulles-Paris Charles de Gaulle route. Passengers will fly on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner during this flight, and can also fly to the French capital from locations such as New York, Washington Dulles and San Francisco.

Tickets are available now through the airline’s website, which can be accessed here.
