On Friday, Qatar Airways celebrated 100 days to go until the commencement of the FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.
The major UAE carrier has launched ‘The Journey Tour’- an interactive bus tour across Europe that will allow several lucky winners the opportunity to attend the 22nd running of the major football tournament.
Qatar celebrates 100 days to go!
Qatar’s ‘The Journey Tour’ is set to kick off in London on 13 August.
The bus tour will offer several engaging interactive experiences for football fans, including having the ability to test their skills against Neymar Jr, learn more about the history of Qatar and the FIFA World Cup, and engage with Qatar’s metahuman that features in its metaverse world – QVerse.
The bus is, of course, branded with the airline’s livery and will be travelling to 12 major cities across Europe to engage and excite football fans about the imminent tournament.

The bus has scheduled stops in London, Manchester, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona.
If fans share their experiences with the tour on social media using the hashtag #FlyToQatar2022, they will be in the running to win travel packages to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. These coveted packages will include return flights, accommodation and of course, match tickets.
Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker commented on the carrier’s announcement:
“At Qatar Airways, we are proud to support this incredible tournament as FIFA’s Official Airline Partner. With only 100 days to go, we are pleased to help build the excitement and passion for this event through ‘The Journey Tour’ – and we look forward to welcoming fans to Qatar for kick-off this November.”
All eyes on Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways is guaranteed to be busy during the football tournament. With tickets running low, the carrier is undoubtedly preparing to ensure it can cope with the demand and present Qatar in the best possible light for aviation.
But Qatar Airways is used to supporting FIFA. As FIFA’s Official Airline Partner since 2017, the oneworld Alliance carrier has sponsored major football events such as the 2019 and 2020 FIFA Club World Cup and FIFA Arab Cup.
The carrier also has an extensive global sports partnership portfolio that not only included the 22nd running of the highly-anticipated football competition, but popular football clubs Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern München.

Other sports including equestrian, kitesurfing and tennis also feature Qatar Airways sponsorship.
