The Netherlands’ flag carrier KLM is introducing a new travel class called Premium Comfort Class in-between economy and business. Starting implementation in 2022, this new class will offer priority in queues, more comfortable seats, device charging, premium meals, and more.

KLM’s new Premium Comfort Class
The airline will start implementing its new premium class in the second half of 2022 and plans to implement it on all of its Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft flying to intercontinental destinations by January 2024. As with its business class, the airline will offer passengers the possibility to upgrade from economy to Premium Comfort at the last minute on certain flights, even after check-in.
This new class will be located in quiet cabins of 21 to 28 seats, fully separated from both economy and business. The seats will have legroom of 99 cm, which is 17 cm more than in economy, and a recline of 20 cm. They will also have movable leg- and footrests, in-seat power sockets, and an entertainment system with a 13-inch screen.
The class will also offer a pillow and blanket and a headset, as well as an amenity kit made from recycled plastic, containing a toothbrush, a sleep mask, ear plugs, and other travel essentials. The seats and tableware are also similarly designed to be reusable and recyclable.
Finally, the new premium class will offer a choice of three exclusive premium meals, two of which are served hot. The meals will be accompanied by salad, bread and butter, and passengers will also be able to order from a selection of wines and liquors, as well as ice cream, coffee and tea.
A snack and a drink will also be offered before takeoff, as well as either a snack or a second meal before landing depending on the time. Finally, extra snacks and drinks will be available at any time.

SkyPriority
Flying in the new Premium Comfort Class will also give passengers access to the SkyTeam alliance’s SkyPriority service, which is also available on KLM flights by flying in business class, being a SkyTeam Elite Plus member, or being part of the airline’s Flying Blue loyalty program. The service is available in over 970 airports worldwide, indicated by red signs.
The perks offered by this service include priority check-in through dedicated counters, priority luggage drop-off and pick-up at special locations, priority security lanes in certain airports, priority boarding, priority transfer, priority baggage handling, priority immigration lanes, and priority lanes at the ticket office. Passengers can check which of these services are available for their trip through the SkyPriority Finder.
