A Frontier Airlines aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing due to a male passenger being found in possession of a box cutter whilst on board.

The Frontier Airlines flight was en route to Tampa, Florida from Cinnaciti Northern International airport on Friday evening, when the cabin crew was alerted that a male passenger was displaying threatening behaviour. According to onlookers, a female passenger who was sitting next to the male started to display concerning behaviour as he began communicating with her. Allegedly, the male proceeded to show her the knife and then threatened that he wanted to physically hurt or kill everyone.
Therefore, at 9:30 pm the flight was diverted to Atlanta Airport and the man in question was immediately taken into custody.
It has been confirmed that none of the passengers or cabin crew members was physically harmed, however, this did cause major travelling inconveniences for all of those on board. The Travel Security Administration has since spoken out about the ordeal.
“All passengers on the plane were provided with overnight hotel accommodations in Atlanta, and a new flight was scheduled for Saturday morning to transport passengers to Tampa.”
Each of them was made to leave their belongings on board and exit the aircraft immediately.
What is the status of this case now?
Currently, the Travel Security Administration are investigating the incident further to ensure that this does not occur again. A statement released from the U.S office has stated,
“TSA has started an internal review of the incident by viewing CCTV, airport security checkpoint processes/operations and will continue to provide updates as they are available. TSA can confirm that blades are prohibited in the cabin, but allowed in checked luggage,” according to the statement”.
It is not clear what the outcome of this case will be as of yet.
