Excitement as Emirates brings the A380 back to Perth

Emirates Airlines has recently announced that it will be replacing the present Boeing 777-300ER with its flagship Airbus A380 for the Dubai to Perth daily flight. This decision comes at the helm of celebrations as the airline commemorates two decades of making the journey to Perth.

Increasing capacity

The new development will see the daily seat capacity for the Dubai to Perth flight increase to 500 for outgoing and inbound. There was an increase of demand that prompted this move, as more and more passengers wanted to make the journey to and from the Western Australian city. Many of the customers are flying in from Europe, particularly the united Kingdom, and are consistently choosing to fly Emirates.

Commenting on the development, CEO of Perth Airport Kevin Brown stated,

“Perth Airport is delighted to welcome back Emirates A380 aircraft. We are seeing strong demand for international travel and the additional seats will certainly be welcomed by our customers looking to reconnect with family and friends, take a well-deserved break or do business across Emirates’ global network.”

Emirates additionally makes ‘superjumbo’ daily trips to Brisbane and twice daily to Melbourne and Sydney.

Two decades of travel

Emirates first began flying to Perth back in 2002, and has since evolved from its four times weekly service to a daily and consistent flight. The airline has reportedly flown over six million passengers on 24,000 trips!

The first Emirates Lounge in Perth was opened in February 2006 while the A380 only arrived at the airport in 2015.

Barry Brown, VP of Emirates Australasia stated,

“The reintroduction of our flagship A380 aircraft to our Perth services is an important milestone and highlights our longstanding commitment to the Australian market. It comes as we celebrate 20 years of flying to Perth.’

He further stetad,

‘It’s exciting to be boosting our services in line with what can only be described as exponential demand. It’s a testament to our superior offering and the ongoing support of the Australian people who trust us with their travels.”

The flight (EK420) form Dubai, will leave at 02:45 and arrive in Perth at 17:20 in the evening. Flight EK421 will leave Perth at 22:20 and land in Dubai at 05:25 the next day.
