As the easing of travel restrictions within Asia has been gradually happening, more and more airlines have increased the frequencies of their routes to accommodate a growing travel demand – including Emirates. From 6th November, Emirates will resume daily flights to Taiwan after the easing of the country’s COVID restrictions.

Winter Season: Emirates Resumes Daily Flights Following Taiwan’s Easing Travel Restrictions

The daily Dubai-Taipei route flown by Emirates is set to make a comeback after experiencing changes in frequency and aircraft over the past 8 years. The course made its debut in 2014, operating daily with the airline’s Boeing 777s. In 2016, the route was upgraded to a larger aircraft: the A380. During the pandemic, the route saw a drop in frequency as travel restrictions in Taiwan strengthened, but Emirates continued to transport cargo to the country.

Now, in a full circle moment, the Dubai-Taipei route will resume daily flights aboard the Boeing 777 this November. The schedule will be as follows (all times are in local time):

EK366 Dubai-Taipei: 02:50 – 14:45. Daily

EK367 Taipei-Dubai: 22:45 – 4:35. Daily

As of 29th September, passengers flying to Taiwan no longer need to take a PCR test upon arrival. Visitors from overseas will also be allowed to take public transport from the airport, where previously they could not. Although travel restrictions have been eased, they are not entirely erased – there is still a daily capacity limit for the number of travellers arriving in Taiwan. As of 13th October, the limit will be 150,000 arrivals allowed per week.

Looking Ahead: What the Easing of Travel Restrictions in Asia Means For Emirates

Amid Asian countries opening their borders to welcome the post-pandemic tourist wave, the Dubai-Taipei route is not the only flight path that will experience a change this season. Emirates has been increasing the frequencies and capacities of routes operating within Asia to meet the growing demand for travel.

As of now, the airline has increased services on routes to Singapore and Guangzhou, and upgraded its Seoul route to be carried by the airline’s flagship A380. Starting 15th November, Emirates is set to upgrade its Narita-Dubai route to also be flown by the A380.
