The skies will be looking a little bit greener this winter (take this literally) as Emerald Airlines expands its services, offering new routes onboard the airline’s all-new ATR 72-600 aircraft. Starting October 30th, Emerald’s winter schedule is due to kick off.

Ireland’s newest regional airline has announced its plans to grow its reach even further this coming winter season as new daily flights are set to be added. The beginning of the season will see the introduction of daily flights between Dublin-Southampton and Dublin-Aberdeen. The addition of these routes will bring the total to 22 routes served by the airline.
Ciarán Smith, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines, had this to say on the airline’s recent expansion:
“After a very successful summer season, we are delighted to be upping our frequencies and adding new routes out of Dublin to/from Aberdeen and Southampton. With convenient timings and cost-effective flights, we strongly believe these connections will be warmly welcomed by both business and leisure travellers. We look forward to a busy winter ahead!”

The All-New ATR 72-600: Emerald Airlines to Receive New Aircraft Delivery Amidst Winter Schedule Announcement
The ATR 72-600 is an aircraft that manufactures created with fuel efficiency in mind. Referred to by the airline as ‘the backbone of Emerald Airlines’ growing fleet’, the aircraft is part of the newest generation of turboprop aircraft that emit up to 40% less CO2 emissions during the airline’s shorter, regional flights.
Smith highlighted in a recent statement that there is a larger expansion plan underway and the introduction of these routes is a part of it. It is reported that Emerald is expecting five additional aircraft over the next coming months to accommodate the airline’s growth. New aircraft will allow the airline to include offer more flights and fly more passengers.
