New Deal Boosts Czech Aerospace

As part of the agreement, Aero Vodochody, a key Czech aerospace manufacturer, will increase its role in the C-390 Millennium program. The deal also facilitates the transfer of technical knowledge and expertise to LOM Praha. They will focus on expanding capabilities in the maintenance and lifecycle management of the C-390 aircraft.

During the signing ceremony, Radka Konderlová, Director General for Industrial Cooperation at the Czech Ministry of Defense, emphasized the importance of the collaboration.

“The agreement with Embraer supports key national security interests and strengthens our strategic armament projects. Embraer has proven to be a valuable partner, offering projects that will significantly enhance our defence capabilities and contribute to the Czech Republic’s global supply chain.”

The agreement would deepen Embraer’s ties with Aero Vodochody. This company has been involved in the C-390 Millennium program since its inception in 2011. It produces essential components like the rear fuselage, cargo doors, and emergency exits.

Aero Vodochody CEO Viktor Sotona praised the extended cooperation:

This contract is a significant milestone for Aero, with a positive impact on the whole Czech industry.

On the other hand, LOM Praha will benefit from the transfer of know-how related to the C-390’s maintenance. This agreement positions LOM Praha to play a crucial role in the C-390’s lifecycle management, opening up new opportunities for long-term cooperation in support and services.

Embraer also plans to extend its collaboration with local universities and research institutions on advanced aerospace projects. This initiative aims to drive innovation and offer opportunities for Czech engineering talent, further enhancing the country’s aerospace capabilities.

This cooperation marks a significant milestone for both the Czech Republic and Embraer, reinforcing their mutual commitment to advancing aerospace technology and strengthening the global defence supply chain.
