Until 9 October, Air Canada will double all donations of Aeroplan points to the Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation program for the Aeroplan Points Matching Week. The Hospital Transportation program offers air travel to sick children across Canada to allow them to access medical care away from home.

The Aeroplan Points Matching Week
Air Canada’s Aeroplan Points Matching Week is currently running until 9 October 2022. During this week, the airline will match all donations of Aeroplan points made by customers to its Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation program, up to 500,000 points.
The Hospital Transportation program allows members of Air Canada’s loyalty program Aeroplan to donate their points to the Air Canada Foundation, which in turn donates them to 15 pediatric hospitals across Canada in order to offer free flights to them to sick children across the country. In 2021, the Aeroplan Points Matching Week supported 337 such flights.
“Your generosity, year after year, truly makes a difference in the lives of children and their families. Through the precious contribution of Aeroplan and its members we’ve been able to reduce costs or travel times associated with receiving medical treatments that can be thousands of kilometers away by connecting hospitals and sick children,” said Valérie Durand, spokesperson for the Air Canada Foundation. “We are grateful to Aeroplan Members for their donations, which relieve a burden and ultimately allow parents to focus on their children during difficult times.”

The Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation Program
The Air Canada Foundation is a not-for-profit organization launched by Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline and flag carrier. The Foundation offers financial and in-kind support to charities across Canada, offers continued support to major Canadian health-related causes, and actively participates in humanitarian relief activities.
Originally launched in 2003, the Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation program allows sick children across Canada to access essential medical care not available in their local communities by flying them to pediatric hospitals across the country accompanied by a parent. These free flights allow the children and their families to avoid strenuous hours on the road and alleviate the financial burden of travel expenses, which can cause serious economic hardship to the families.
“Over the past decade, the Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation program has been an invaluable partner for children’s health. They have contributed to the cause of children’s health in so many ways. Their ongoing support helps children and their families access much-needed medical care far away from home,” said Mark Hierlihy, President and CEO of Canada Children’s Hospital Foundations. “The impacts of this program have been overwhelming. All children should have the right to medical care, and increasing access makes this possible, getting kids back to being kids again.”
