Three weeks ago, Hungary reopened for people. holding coronavirus immunity cards and lessened restrictions across the board in regards to COVID-19. If a Hungarian citizen has received one dose of the vaccine, they are allowed to receive one of these immunity cards.

However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for the airport as the Hungarian airline Wizz Air launched a service to Mykonos in Greece that would run twice a week.

The low cost airline are relaunching flights to Germany, Belgium, Spain and the Canary Islands six times a week. The new paths will link Budapest to Berlin, Brussels, Barcelona and Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. These are all touristy hotspots, so as well as departures, Hungary are hoping to see a lot of action in arrivals too.

By July, the airline hope to boost flights from six to nineteen – a massive influx, which will hopefully keep up with the demand that the summer could bring. They are looking at introducing daily flights to Brussels, weekly flights to Gran Canaria, five flights a week to Barcelona and six flights a week to Germany’s capital.
