British Airways partners with the British Red Cross
British Airways has announced a three-year partnership with the British Red Cross as part of its BA Better World Community Fund program. This partnership will support the charity’s emergency response program in the UK to assist them in delivering emergency services nationwide.
As part of the partnership, British Airways will provide the Red Cross with equipment and vehicles in order to improve their response effectiveness and support their work to build community resilience in areas affected by disasters.
“The British Red Cross does incredible work to support people and communities when they need it most, in times of crisis. We’re delighted and proud to be able to support them through our BA Better World Community Fund. By doing so through our Crowdfunder platform, we hope our contribution can also create the platform for others to support the work of the British Red Cross too,” said Carrie Harris, Director of Sustainability at British Airways.
Chris Davies, Head of Crisis Response at the British Red Cross, added: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with British Airways through the BA Better World Community Fund. As the last few years have shown, crises can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere in the UK – whether that’s a house fire, flood, terrorist incident, or search and rescue emergency. But with British Airways’ ongoing support, our teams will be able to support UK communities during their moments of greatest need and build their resilience for the future. I look forward to seeing the partnership go from strength to strength over the next three years.”

The BA Better World Community Fund program
British Airways has been supporting community initiatives in the UK and around the world for over 30 years. The airline has been supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee since 2013 to help provide vital relief to disaster-affected communities around the world. Through it, it has recently provided support and funding to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and the Pakistan Floods Crisis, helping to deliver shipments to the areas affected and providing flights to help the relief effort.
Launched in April 2022, the BA Better World Community Fund program delivers funding to charities and social enterprise groups across the UK through its crowdfunding platform, with the goals of promoting diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and tackling climate change. It forms part of the BA Better World sustainability program, which was introduced in 2021 to achieve British Airways’ goal of creating a better workplace, reducing emissions and waste, and creating a lasting positive impact in communities in the UK and around the world.
