Alaska Airlines’ well-loved loyalty programme is set to improve with the renewal of the airline’s long-term partnership with Bank of America. Mileage Plan, the company’s co-branded credit card, is being extended through 2030.

Continued Partnership on Mileage Plan

The extended partnership between Alaska Air Group and Bank of America means that passengers can expect additional benefits in the coming months. Updates to the loyalty programme will be announced in the second half of 2022.

Our partnership with Bank of America has been key to strengthening Alaska’s brand recognition and building unparalleled customer loyalty. This extension of our relationship with Bank of America will continue to provide our guests meaningful ways to enhance their travel experience with us. Over time, we will continue to invest in value-added benefits for our cardholders, while consistently providing them with remarkable service in line with our culture of care.” – Ben Minicucci, Chief Executive Officer, Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines Growth Plans

The extension of the strategic partnership with Bank of America and growth plans were announced as part of Alaska Airlines’ Investor Day, where the airline provided an update on growth and performance, specifically with a focus on post-pandemic recovery and sustainability targets.

During that announcement, Alaska Airlines communicated plans to grow an average of four to eight percent each year through 2025. This will partly be achieved by adding depth to the airline’s network.

The airline also indicated its commitment to transition to a single fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft for main operations and Embraer E175 aircraft for regional operations by the end of 2023. Switching to a single fleet improves efficiency, reduces costs, and provides a more scalable solution as the airline continues to grow.
