Air France, the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, has announced the operation of three special flights between Los Angeles and Nice, France, on 15, 22, and 29 May, 2023. The airline is responding to high demand from US West Coast customers hoping to escape to the French Riviera and enjoy the famous international film festival in the spring.
Airbus A350 Aircraft
Air France will use its Airbus A350-900 aircraft to operate these special flights, with 324 seats on offer, including 34 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy, and 266 in Economy. The Premium Economy class features the latest recliner-type seat with a wide 48-cm seat pan and reclines to 124°, while the Economy class seat is fitted with ergonomic seat foam, with a 118° recline and 79cm of legroom. The Business class seats convert into a full-flat bed nearly 2 metres long, offering optimal comfort. All cabins offer an in-flight Wi-Fi connection and wide High-Definition individual touch screens for entertainment.

The schedule for these flights is as follows (local time):
- 15 and 22 May 2023: Flight AF041 leaves Los Angeles at 13:10 to arrive in Nice at 9:30 the following day.
- 29 May 2023: Flight AF040 leaves Nice at 13:55 to arrive in Los Angeles at 17:05 the same day.
The carrier’s Airbus A350 is one of the most eco-friendly aircraft in its long-haul fleet, with CO2 emissions reduced by 25% compared to previous-generation aircraft, thus reducing the airline’s environmental footprint. The aircraft’s noise footprint is also reduced by 40%.
The Cannes Film Festival, the biggest movie fest in the world, has been an official partner of Air France for 43 years. The airline celebrates this partnership and its love of the cinema by promoting it throughout its long-haul cabins all year round. With 1,500 hours of in-flight entertainment, including a wide selection of award-winning French films and movies from previous editions of the Festival de Filmes Cannes, Air France offers a carefully curated selection of films to suit anyone’s taste.

Apart from these special flights, Air France will also operate up to 26 weekly flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Los Angeles (LAX) from March to October to account for the summer season.
In addition, the airline will operate four special flights between New York JFK (JFK) and Nice (NCE) for the occasion of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity between June 19 and 23, 2023.
